Halloween Jacket

this is the really cool jacket that my friend Rice gave me...it was not orange enough for her...I plan to change the buttons and do a little something to it to make it mine...

long story short or just not as long as it could be...

I was in Lake Charles, LA visiting my family. My sister traveled back to Midland with me. We stopped in Fredericksburg, Texas for the night. I had made reservations at the Hill Country Motel and Cottages. http://www.mycountryinn.com/ I was told that we would be in Cottage #4 out on a 2oo acre ranch...2 bedroom with a bathtub and shower and a small kitchette...sounds great! Well, it was not a cottage...it was a botched up farm house...our part of this house was next to the rec room...it was like we were sleeping behind a bar....well, if we had been able to sleep. The bed linens were not fresh. The bath towels were not fresh. The bathroom was not clean. It was all pretty nasty. There was no place to sit outside. We had to bring the little table and chairs from the kitchenette(which was an old table in the hall with a microwave, refridgerator and a coffee pot) outside so we would have a place to sit and eat. Eating inside was not an option. At check in they gave us 2 coupons for breakfast in town the next morning...well, we went to all of the places listed and not one place was open. When it was time to return the key and hopefully tell someone about the bad experience we had; there was no one at the desk...just a return key bucket...I have emailed them with my complaint...I have heard nothing from them...

...been moving in...and waiting for the cabinets to be finished in the darkroom...I can hardly wait to mix up chemicals and really get started...

...been cutting and stitching quilt blocks for a swap with some farm girls......I've never done this before...it is kinda fun. the first few that I made needed to go in the trash...I'm on #9 and it looks pretty good...not perfect but good enough I hope.

The Zinnias in the flower bed are the best I have ever had...the Lantana has survived so far...the Local is looking good ...if I do say so myself

It's Official!

Green Tag!

I have a "Green Tag" from the electrical inspector and a "Green Tag" from the plumbing inspector...have been waiting on the building inspector for days...I did phone the city this morning...offered to give the guy a ride out to my house and I told them that I have a clip board that he could borrow...I was told that a ride was not nessecary and that they would get someone out today....hmmm...I suppose now it is a wait and see game...

Day #5 of Sunshine...

The builders just arrived...it is 2:30 pm! I am exhausted. I have been pacing the backyard all morning.

Rain, rain go away!

the rains came in on late Monday...today is Wednesday and it is still raining...my back yard looks just like it did Saturday morning only with a lot more water....

Feeding the ants...

Well, today is Sunday...the only workers that I found in my yard today are tons and tons of ants! So, I feed them....all of them lots of ant killer...I do hope that they gorge themselves...the nasty, mean little buggers.
